The title story, No Easy Road to Survival, shows paid youths trying to rig election results in favour of the ruling party; in Beyond the Forbidden Borders a Jewish woman struggles to save her marriage to a Palestinian; Living in Yesterdays Bliss shows attempts by an American fashion buff to adjust to the new situation now that her executive husband is unemployed; there is even a horror story featuring a display of African magical powers in America.
